Mirror! Mirror! digital single out today! 21/04/08
Our ongoing exclusive digital single series continues, with the brand new single 'Silicon Eyes/Wolfgang Bang' from Mirror! Mirror! Backed up by exclusive DEFN and Cutting Pink With Knives remixes - this is an awesome little release. The 7" version will follow up on Tough Love Records within the next month or two for vinyl freaks. An itunes link for it is on the 'releases' page and here
Elsewhere pre-orders for the Maths/Throats split cd and the Dananananaykroyd 'Sissy Hits' cd will start beginning of May, ready for shipping early June. Watch out for that.

More tours! New band! Other exciting stuff! 26/02/08
Firstly we are stupidly excited to announce that we will be releasing 'Sissy Hits' - the debut cd release by Dananananaykroyd. Having been fans of the band and their perfect combination of hardcore and indie for sometime, when the chance presented itself to release this little gem, it was an easy decision. The bands previous singles on Moshi Moshi and Jealous records sold out pretty fast. An early cd-r promo of 'Sissy Hits' has already received a 10/10 review on www.drownedinsound.com. Believe. Go see them on tour in March. The cd will drop late April/early May.
No sooner has Rolo Tomassi's tour with I Was A Cub Scout come to a close that the band have been confirmed for tours with Youthmovies (March) and Horse the Band (May). Sweet.
Throats have been confirmed for this years ZXZW festival in Tilburg, Holland. Cutting Pink With Knives played last year and in 2008 Throats are flying the Holy Roar flag. We are a bit happy to say the least.
Finally Cutting Pink With Knives and Rolo Tomassi have both been confirmed for the Camden Crawl and Dot to Dot festivals in April and May. Considering the predominantely indie nature of these festivals, we feel this is somewhat of a coup for the bands and Holy Roar.

So Narcosis have split up. Yes, yes we know. It sucks, we suck, etc etc. Lets just hope Throats and Maths dont even THINK about pulling the same stunt. In other, more positive, news the 'Happy Holy Roar!' tape compliation tracklisting is nearly complete and will be announced in the next few days hopefully. Cutting Pink With Knives will be releasing a digital single for 'Laser Hannon' on November 19th. This will be backed by another exclusive track and a video.

Busy Times! 18/09/07
Our first digital only release came out yesterday, in the shape of the Cutting Pink With Knives single for 'St Mark/Airz' - It's £1.58 on iTunes with the exclusive b-side 'Angus is the Camera'! Out from Monday 24th is the Cutting Pink With Knives album 'Populuxxe' on CD and download. THEN on October 1st is the reissue of the Rolo Tomassi CD! Some sweet packages and deals will go up for all of these. CPWK youth medium tshirts are already £5/6/7 (uk/eu/usa) to celebrate!

Exciting Times/Sad Times 14/08/07
Good News: We are happy to announce some new releases! First up (17th Sept) is the 'St Mark/Airz' digital single from Cutting Pink With Knives. This features two exclusive tracks. Then on October 1st we will be reissuing the sold-out Rolo Tomassi ep, with two bonus tracks. Finally - in December - we will be doing our first compilation, which will also be our first tape release. It will feature rare and unreleased tracks from loads of Holy Roar artists as well as a bunch of bands we love. The tape will be limited to 100 copies. Get over to the 'releases' page for full details of all of these.
Bad News: No sooner had we signed them, November Coming Fire have split up. Gutted. The band had the following to say:
After 6 years, countless shows and tours, and three amazing releases, we have decided to call it a day on November Coming Fire.
We have spent the last six years playing with some of the best bands in the UK, and from around the world. We have always set a standard for ourselves with regards to the strongest work ethic, respect for people that we work with and the quality of the music we put out. This is something we will always be proud of.
We will, individually, be starting numerous new musical projects over the coming months, and we are all excited about the prospect of new beginnings and fresh experiences.
For those of you that know us personally, you will know how stupidly hard this has been for the four of us to actually do; NCF has been a constant in all of our lives for so long, to walk away from this is the hardest thing any of us have had to do, and we are all deeply upset that this part of our lives is over.
We would like to thank a few people that without them, NCF would not have been the amazing thing it was. John Midlands, Thom Violence, Scott White, Dan Burrows, Alan Dargan, Rob Hearts, Bill Edwards, Mark at InAtTheDeepEnd, Rich at Speedowax, Johan and Suzanne at Reflections, Jamie at ThirtyDaysOfNight, Ellen and Alex at Holy Roar and every single band we have played with and made friends with; all of you that have booked us, let us stay in your home, fed us, bought our record, and especially anyone that appreciated what we have been trying to say these last six years.
Our very special thanks go to Ben Phillips, for everything.
Our last show will be this Sunday, the 18th August. We are headlining the FRIENDS TO ALL NATIONS all dayer at the Westgate Pavillion, Westgate on Sea, Margate, Kent. Please come along and send NCF off in good style. Expect a set spanning our career of all our favourite songs, and probably some big girly tears.

Firstly, and most importantly, it looks like Chronicles of Adam West have split up. This quite sad considering how amazing the cd they did for us was. There was only 500 pressed - so buy one now, before it goes out of print forever, as we wont be repressing it.
Secondly a bunch of stuff has been added to the distro including stuff from As The Sun Sets, Isis, Kayo Dot, Red Sparowes and many more...go look here!
Cutting Pink With Knives were played on BBC Radio 6 last night, BBC Radio 1 last week and have a live session on BBC Radio 6 on Friday between 7-9pm...listen to it for some reworked songs and an exclusive cover!

New Artist on Holy Roar! Plus other news! 03/08/07
We are stupidly happy to announce that November Coming Fire have joined the Holy Roar stables! Having already done an ep with In At The Deep End and an album with Reflections Records, as well as having notched up shows with Converge, Dillinger Escape Plan, Gallows, Pelican, Doomriders, Cave In, Dass Oath and millions more, this is a band with ssome serious pedigree. There are two new songs up on their myspace page which indicate the direction they are going in (these may not show up on the new album), but you can assured it will be another massive creative leap for the band, and of course the packaging will continue the Holy Roar trend of being amazing (death to downloads!). This monumental piece of work should see the light of day in February 2008. To celebrate NCF joining us they will be playing a free afternoon show at Notting Hill Arts Club with Rolo Tomassi, Cutting Pink With Knives and Fuck Buttons on Saturday 8th September, as well as Rapturefest in Reading the following day, which will feature all these bands and more. Elsewhere a pile of new distro stuff will be added v soon, and the Rolo Tomassi and Cutting Pink shirts are going stupid fast so buy now before they are gone forever!

Rolo Tomassi will be playing the Great Escape Festival in Brighton next weekend (18th May). They'll be on the Drowned in Sound stage at 7pm, along with I Was A Cubscout, The Scare and Gallows. Should be a killer show!
Also Cutting Pink With Knives have finished recording their new album so we're just waiting to get the final mastered version back. So far sounds SICK though. Gallows has been sent off to press, Chariots is going sometime this week, and Chronicles are finishing up their recording as we speak. Exact release dates and whatnot confirmed very soon. We will be releasing the Gallows demos on 7"!! We are really excited and happy to be doing this for such an awesome band. The demos were recorded before the 'Orchestra of Wolves' album and include 3 different versions of tracks from there and one song not available anywhere else. We're doing a limited pressing of 500, which will come with incredible artwork and will look and sound amazing. Proper psyched for this, it should be out by the end of Jan '07.

We have Phoenix Bodies t-shirts and hoodies available now in the 'store' section. We only have a limited supply and they are fit so get in quick! The Chariots and Chronicles releases are moving forward, we're getting artwork finalised and Chronicles are recording the new year. MAD EXCITED FOR THOSE. We will also have a third released planned for the first half of '07 which we should hopefully be able to announce in the next few days.

NEXT RELEASES! 12/10/06
Chariots - the inner life ep
- this is their final ever recordings, finally seeing the light of day. Better produced, more confident, heavier, more memorable and just 20x better than the album...this is an amazing swansong for this much underrated British band. The screamo comparisons and converge comparsions are completely redundant - this is huge, dark abrasive rock that should appeal to everyone who likes anything from Shikari to His Hero Is Gone to Circle Takes The Square to Yaphet Kotto.
Chronicles of Adam West - ep
- after thinking that we had lost them to the land of metal, we found the Chronicles wanting to come back to the holy roar lair! Tech metal/rock that will appeal as much to fans of Psyopus and Meshuggah as it will to fans of Death Metal and even fans of rolo tomassi, the murder of rosa luxemburg etcetc. We are so excited about the future of this band....as their songwriting seems to be taking in elements of so many styles and making it completely and cohesively their own.
These should both see the light of day in feb/march 2007. We would rather take our time and do things properly than rush stuff and churn out shit.

Distro Update, and all releases officially out now! 18/09/06
The store section has a lot of new stock in, including a bunch of releases from Crucificados including bits by Swarrrm, Shikari, Narcosis and Perth Express. Also the Rolo Tomassi EP hit shops last Monday and so all three releases are now officially available to buy in shops all over the place, as well as online on this site!

We finally got round to sorting out a messageboard - it's actually worthwhile, because it is collated together with a bunch of other upcoming UK labels. You can find it here. In other news, we have got absolutely loads of new stuff in the distro, including mega limited Kayo Dot vinyl of 'Dowsing...' and Municipal Waste t-shirts designed by John of Baroness amongst loads else - all good and cheap, with new stuff coming in regularly. We are pretty close to announcing some new additions to the label...watch this space and check back often!

The Achilles gig is this Saturday at the Grosvenor, and will have a super special support act from the likes of ESQUILAX and CUTTING PINK WITH KNIVES doing some kind of tag-team thing. Should be interesting! In actual records news, the Kayo Dot/Bloody Panda split has been sent to the pressing plant, we should have the test pressings back soon. Rolo Tomassi have just had their extended EP mastered so we're going to get the CDs for that printed soon. Also their CD cases (with fancy artwork by Angelo of Raein/La Quiete) should be hitting the production line (AKA Rolo Tomassi's own fair hands) very soon. Phoenix Bodies will be getting sent off to press in the next couple of days hopefully. Everything is moving forward, it's all a bit nuts!

Many thanks to everyone who made it down to An Albatross, we had more people in than the death metal all dayer downstairs, ha ha. Everything is moving forward with the three releases, we've let Rolo Tomassi out of the recording studio now they've finished their stuff and apparently it went well. We'll take their word for it. They and Phoenix Bodies are also featured in the latest issue of Zero Tolerance, so check that over at ztmag.com. Our next gig is going to be Achilles at the Grosvenor in Stockwell, which will include the return of Chariots. Should be ace.

If you have a gander over at the 'releases' section you'll see some nice artwork for all three releases we have coming up. We're really excited about how ace they look! We're also putting on An Albatross on sunday in London, with the return of the mighty Palehorse. We are mildly excited about this also.
