Now inactive, run,WALK! were just two dudes.. one on drums (conventional) and one on bass/vocals/effects (therefore, overall, less conventional). Two dude that were LOUD.
How they arrived at such a sound at such a young age is beyond comprehension – I blame the internet. Equally informed by noise-rock and fuck off bastard bass noise as they are by The Maccabees and Bloc Party in terms of songwriting chops and gruff melody, run,WALK! stand a unique position.
The obvious reference point would be something like Lightning Bolt meets Fugazi or Death From Above 1979 playing Maccabees songs. In other words indie punk songs played on a fucking brutal bass guitar, without losing definition, structure, or hooks.
